Fatal accident in Central Hesse: Frontal crash kills two people

A car and a motorcycle collide on the B62 near Dautphetal (Marburg-Biedenkopf district) on Thursday.

Any help comes too late for the drivers.

Dautphetal/Marburg – A traffic accident on a federal road near Dautphetal (Marburg-Biedenkopf district) cost the lives of two people on Thursday morning (04/14/2022).

As reported by the central Hessian police, a car and a motorcycle collided head-on at around 6.15 a.m. on the B62 between the towns of Eckelshausen and Kombach, as reported by giessener-allgemeine.de *.

The 53-year-old motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident.

The 87-year-old driver later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

She came from nearby Wetter (Marburg-Biedenkopf district), he came from Siegen (Siegen-Wittgenstein district, North Rhine-Westphalia).

The police are currently assuming that the fatal collision was preceded by an unsuccessful overtaking maneuver.

The driver is said to have overtaken a truck and crashed his vehicle into the oncoming motorcyclist.

The B62 near Dautphetal was completely closed until 9.35 a.m.

A rescue helicopter was deployed.

The central Hessian police are looking for other witnesses to the fatal accident in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district.
