"We're all hot and can't wait.

Soon the best surfers will be riding our wave.

For us it's just super cool that this top sporting event is taking place on our new wave in Nuremberg right after the opening," says Thorsten Keck, chairman of the Nuremberg surf club, which now has around 400 members.

The fact that the championships are held at the foxhole is almost like an accolade for the new perm.

"The event in Nuremberg proves that our river wave in the Pegnitz is also suitable for absolute top experts," says Keck and speaks of ideal conditions just before the starting gun.

Admission to the site is even free.

However, visitors must buy a free ticket online beforehand in order not to overthrow the capacity limits of a maximum of 400 spectators per day.

With the championships on the new river wave, the Nuremberg surfers also want to make surfing even more popular throughout Germany.

"On the other hand, anyone can afford membership with us for 20 euros per month," says Thorsten Keck happily and hopes for a change in the surfing scene.

The Nuremberg wave pioneers want to encourage other cities in Germany to build river waves with their wave.
