According to a recent survey, the majority of Germans believe that Germany should supply heavy weapons to the Ukraine war.

Berlin – 55 percent of Germans are in favor of Germany delivering heavy weapons such as tanks in the Ukraine war*.
This is the result of a representative survey published on Thursday by the Infratest dimap institute for the ARD “Deutschlandtrend”.

37 percent are against the delivery of heavy weapons to Ukraine in the fight against Russia.
The majority of supporters of the Greens, SPD, FDP and Union are in favor of the arms deliveries, while the majority of AfD voters are against it.
Ukraine has long been demanding heavy weapons such as battle tanks, artillery pieces and air defense systems from Germany.
Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock* (Greens) spoke out in favor of the delivery of heavy weapons, Chancellor Olaf Scholz* (SPD) has so far been reluctant to answer relevant questions.
But the pressure on him is increasing.

At the same time, according to the survey, the majority (48 percent) of Germans are against a ban on imports of Russian gas and oil.
40 percent would support this.
An import ban is currently only supported by the majority of supporters of the Greens (58 percent).
The supporters of the SPD, FDP and the Union parties are divided on this issue.
In the camp of AfD supporters, a clear majority is against an import ban (84 percent).
Infratest dimap interviewed 1,226 eligible voters by telephone and online for the survey on April 11 and 12.
The possible error rate is between two and three percent.
