A music teacher from a middle school in Faenza (Ravenna) assigned her class to study the song 'Bella ciao' and make a video during the Easter holidays.
A parent reported him to the municipal councilor of the Misto group, former Lega, Gabriele Padovani, who judges the teacher's request as "excessively politicized" and intends to bring the matter to the city council.
Corriere di Romagna tells us about it.
"I will shortly submit a question and an agenda - said Padovani - Bella Ciao is a politically marked song and, moreover, it was never even sung by the partisans. Why is it proposed to 12-year-olds?".
For the councilor, "if the intention was to sensitize the young people about the war in progress, then other pieces could be chosen", such as Verdi's 'Va Pensiero'.
But for Carlo Boldrini, son of the partisan Arrigo, the commander 'Bulow', "Bella ciao is not a partisan song, it is a unitary song of the anti-fascists. Those who say the opposite do not know the story, but I am not surprised: it is now for 30 years we have been in a climate of historical revisionism ", he comments to the newspaper.
