(CNN) --
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is diversifying its content.
The cable channel will present a new romance with a protagonist who has Down syndrome.
Lily D. Moore, seen here in "Never Have I Ever," has a new role in a Hallmark project.
"Never Have I Ever" actress Lily D. Moore will star in "Color My World With Love" as Kendall, "a talented artist with Down syndrome who creates beautiful impressionist-style paintings that reflect the reality of her subjects as and how she sees them.
Things take a romantic turn when she meets Brad, played by David DeSanctis, at a cooking class.
Erica Durance, Benjamin Ayres and Karen Kruper will also star in the film.
"Thanks to the support of her mother, Emma (Durance), and her grandmother, Bev (Kruper), Kendall is happy and thriving," according to a press release provided to CNN.
"Her life takes an exciting turn when she meets Brad (DeSanctis) at a cooking class at the local center for diverse students and their romance blossoms. Emma has spent the last 22 years trying to protect her daughter and has reservations about the new Kendall and Brad's relationship, especially when it's quickly moving in a serious direction."
Sofía Jirau, the Latina with Down syndrome who made history in Victoria's Secret, tells her life
"Everyone has dreams of falling in love and getting married one day, even people with disabilities," Moore said in a statement.
