Shock scene at Munich subway station: man stumbles, falls in front of an incoming train – and survives

A 50-year-old probably experienced the shock moment of his life when he wanted to take the U4 at the Lehel underground station on Wednesday afternoon.
He tripped and fell in front of an oncoming train.

The Munich fire brigade reports:
The accident happened on Wednesday afternoon around 4 p.m.
The 50-year-old man stumbled on the platform and then fell on the track area of the U4 going into town.
The driver of the incoming train saw the fallen in time and brought his train to a standstill with an emergency stop.
The heavy train collided easily with the man.
Shock at the U4 station in the center of Munich – the man disappears under the subway
A fire protection assistant from the Munich Transport Company (MVG), who was on site, immediately contacted the casualty.
It turned out that the man was responsive and had not been run over by the subway, as he was mostly in the security area under the platform.
Man under U4: fire brigade crawls under train
A fire brigade team crawled under the train to the casualty and placed him on a board with which he could be pulled onto the open track area.
The rescue service personnel took over the man on the platform and, after initial treatment, transported him to the shock room of a Munich clinic.
Great luck: man probably only slightly injured
An eyewitness and the driver were cared for by the emergency services until the arrival of the crisis intervention team.
Due to the operation, the U4 was closed for a longer period.
The man was probably lucky in his misfortune.
According to initial assessments on site, he sustained only minor injuries.
