"Veines d'Opale" a sociable exhibition at Espace Voltaire

2022-04-15T14:36:37.632Z

Until April 19, the Espace Voltaire (11th) hosts the “Veines d'Opale” exhibition. An event that brings together 32 creators from different universes.

As in any house, you enter through the door.

However, it is more unusual to come out through the interior courtyard of the imposing building, which was a textile factory.

Today the place has lost its function.

Become Espace Voltaire, it is invested until April 19 by Paulo Iverno, Alicia Mineaud and Anaïs Madeni.

Together they orchestrate "Veines d'Opale", a contemplative journey through the works of unpublished artists.

Multidisciplinary, the exhibition dedicated to young contemporary creation shows sculpture, painting, fabric or even digital art.

The organization of such an event is complex.

Paulo says that "

each work was imagined for the exhibition, which poses a lot of constraints in terms of deadlines, for example

".

It's true that you have to manage 18 visual artists and twelve musicians, who don't even know each other.

If at first glance the relationship between the works is not obvious, the scenography imagined by Alicia Mineaud and Ann Comon makes the experience readable.

Once past the famous metal and plaster door by Célia Boulesteix, the idea is to let yourself be guided by the silver vein affixed directly to the concrete floor.

At his side, two paintings signed by the painter Maud Maris.

If we can see a minotaur and a crocodile, it is in the fossils that the artist drew his inspiration.

A little further on, a monumental fabric installation is sometimes reminiscent of a spider's web or a cathedral - depending on the eye contemplating it.

The works are made with recycled or more noble materials.

It all depends on the means of the creator!

After crossing a corridor lined with red fabric capes, you enter a cardboard and metal castle that looks like a Gothic work.

The latter welcomes musicians on Saturday April 16, for an evening that will continue at the Pamela Club in the 6th arrondissement.

Paulo Iverno has made it his mission to bring young creation back to the center of the capital.

A successful bet for the young curator!

Until April 19 at Espace Voltaire (11th).
