An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolted the city of Dahlingkha in northwest China's Qinghai Province, but no casualties or material damage were reported.
The Xinhua news agency quoted the Chinese Earthquake Networks Center as saying that the tremor occurred at a depth of 10 km, and its epicenter was determined at the confluence of latitude 38.52 degrees north and longitude 97.33 degrees east.
A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck Shengun County in southwest China's Sichuan Province on the sixth of this month, without causing any casualties.
