Business creations in France increased by 1.9% in March after falling by 4.7% in February, according to figures published Friday by INSEE.

88,169 companies were created last month, including 53,467 micro-enterprises (60.6% of the total), an increase of 2.1% over one month for this category, specifies the National Institute of Statistics.
The total number of companies created in the last 12 months increased by 8.5% year-on-year, but this increase "
is partly linked to the heavy drop in business creations during the first confinement of 2020
", explains the 'Insee.
It is the creation of companies that is growing the fastest, with a 20.2% increase over the last 12 months year-on-year and 7.7% over the last three months, compared to the same period of 2021.

All categories combined over the first quarter, the number of creations fell by 0.4% compared to the first quarter of 2021. Last year, business creations in France had reached an all-time high, approaching one million.
By sector in March, business creations increased the most in information and communication with an increase of 12.6% as well as in real estate activities (+9.8%).
Construction (+5.9%) and household services (+5.2%) are also doing well.

The sectors where they have fallen are industry (-3%), which nevertheless recorded a 14.4% increase in creations over one year in the first quarter, as well as the whole consisting of trade, transport, accommodation and catering, for which creations were down moderately over the month in March (-2.3%) but experienced a very significant drop over one year in the first quarter (-30.9%).
Creations also fell by 2.4% last month in the education, health and social action sectors.
