Against the background of the riots on the Temple Mount, the terrorist organization Hamas is in talks with Egypt and the UN today (Friday).
Hamas leader Ismail initiated a telephone conversation with senior Egyptian intelligence officials and talked to them about the situation in Jerusalem and the al-Aqsa events that took place this morning.
Haniyeh warned of the consequences of "breaking into al-Aqsa and attacking the Palestinian people inside the mosque," and blamed Israel.
This was reported on the official website of Hamas.
In addition, the Hamas website stated that Haniyeh also spoke with the UN envoy to the Middle East, Thor Winsland. Earlier, Winsland called on all parties to act to stop what was happening and said that the UN was in intensive contact to calm the situation, especially in al-Aqsa.
Haniyeh, for his part, made demands, including the release of Palestinian detainees from the morning and previous incidents, and the halting of "killings and assassinations in Jenin and the West Bank."
He further said that the issue of sacrificing victims should be put to an end.
