A 32-year-old man surnamed Wu went uphill with his girlfriend and other friends to hike the mountain at the Hezui Coastal Reserve in Shek O this afternoon (15th) at 3 o'clock, but the owner was accidentally swept away by a huge wave while taking pictures. It floated and sank in the sea about 20 meters offshore, and many tourists witnessed it and called the police for help.
After the police received the report, they once sent a flight service team to the scene for search and rescue. The man was finally rescued by the marine police boat. When the man was rescued, he was unconscious and had to use an automatic extracardiac compression machine to be sent to the Eastern District Hospital for rescue.
The man was confirmed dead after being sent to the hospital, and the police are investigating the cause of his fall into the sea.
