The cruise line Aida has subsequently made some changes to its program.

One trip has even been canceled altogether.

Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, cruise travelers have had to contend with many uncertainties.

There have been repeated cancellations or changes to plans over the past few months.

Russia's war in Ukraine has also ensured that shipping companies have adjusted their routes: "Against the background of the events, we have decided for ethical and moral reasons to adjust the schedules of our Baltic Sea cruises from May to October 2022:

we will call St . Petersburg no longer call

," said a Tui Cruises spokeswoman in February, according to the German Press Agency.

The Carnival Corporation, to which the Rostock shipping company Aida belongs, also announced that it wants to adjust its routes because of the Ukraine conflict*.

Aida cancels calls at Baltic Sea ports – cancellation for “operational reasons”

Aida has now also decided not to head for other popular Baltic Sea ports - the

eastern Baltic States

are particularly affected .

The ships AIDAdiva, AIDAmar, AIDAnova and AIDAvita should instead head for Copenhagen (Denmark), Oslo (Norway) or Gothenburg (Sweden), according to a message on the website.

At the same time, the AIDAdiva cruise* from May 7th to 14th, which had cities such as Tallinn, Hamina, Helsinki, Stockholm and Warnemünde on the itinerary, is canceled completely “for operational reasons”.

Aida offers holidaymakers who had booked the canceled trip to rebook to another trip from the holiday program by October 2023.

Anyone who makes the rebooking by May 31, 2022 should be rewarded with an “attractive on-board credit”.

How high this is will depend on the length of the new trip.
