Suspicion of child pornography: Kripo arrests men in three counties - material secured

On Thursday morning, several men in three districts around Munich received a visit from the police.
They had child pornography material at home.

The police headquarters in Upper Bavaria North reports
: In the early morning hours of Maundy Thursday, April 14, 2022, six apartments were searched in the districts of Erding, Ebersberg and Freising under the leadership of the Erding criminal police.
Individuals who were targeted by the investigators and suspected of possessing or distributing child pornography files were specifically checked.

More than 600 data carriers were seized from the accused men between the ages of 25 and 49 as part of the search measures.
Furthermore, child pornographic files were evidently found and confiscated in three properties during the search.
Child pornography in Bavaria: Suspects free again
The investigations by the Erding criminal police, in particular the complex analysis of the evidence found, are ongoing.
The suspects were released after the end of the police measures.
A total of 30 officers from the Erding Criminal Police Office, the Erding Central Emergency Services and the local police departments were involved in the search.
In the fight against child pornography, the law was changed in 2021, with the result that the mere possession of child pornography, for example child pornographic photos on a mobile phone, constitutes a crime and is punishable with imprisonment for not less than one year.
