“Power outages and flash floods”: USA threatens severe storms

Severe storms are threatening in many states of the USA these days.
The responsible weather service has issued a comprehensive warning.
Washington / Munich - The US weather service warns of severe storms in the center of the country.
In northern US states such as Montana or North and South Dakota, record snowfalls and “extreme” storm effects are expected by Wednesday at the latest, the weather service announced on Tuesday afternoon (local time) (

Weather in the US: Blizzard in the north, tornadoes in the south
A blizzard warning applies to North Dakota until Thursday evening.
"Travelling will be very difficult to impossible and there may be power outages and tree damage," the meteorologists continued.
The Midwest region and more southern states like Louisiana and Mississippi are at risk of "strong" tornadoes.

"In addition, there is a slight risk of torrential rain and possible flash flooding in the same region, as the storms leading up to and along the cold front have the potential to trigger significant downpours," the weather service said.
The dreaded tornado season is in full swing in the United States.
Severe cyclones are expected in many places from March to June.
