Seine-Saint-Denis: an elected official excluded from the LR departmental group because of her support for Zemmour

Marie Blanche-Pietri no longer sits within the Les Républicains et various right group, said its president Philippe Dallier. After

Marie-Blanche Pietri's decision to sponsor Éric Zemmour for the presidential election had surprised some of his colleagues, who saw in it an indication of a closeness to the ideas of the polemicist.

The departmental councilor for the canton of Gagny, until then a member of the opposition group Les Républicains and various right, also attended the meeting of the Reconquest candidate at the Trocadéro on March 27.

A mark of support that Philippe Dallier (LR) decided to sanction by excluding the person concerned from the group he chairs.

Before Marie-Blanche Pietri, Vijay Monany (DVD) also suffered the same fate, for similar reasons.

The departmental councilor of the canton of Blanc-Mesnil had been removed from the group in the days which had followed his participation in the first meeting of Éric Zemmour in Villepinte, at the beginning of December.

He was later named spokesperson for his campaign.

“I called her after sending her sponsorship, she told me she had done it for democracy”

These two elected officials are the only ones in Seine-Saint-Denis to have sponsored the former presidential journalist.

In the first round on April 10, the latter came in fourth position with 7.1% of the votes cast, far behind the rebellious Jean-Luc Mélenchon (third with 22%) but ahead of the Republican candidate Valérie Pécresse (fifth with 4 .8%).

The announcement of this exclusion was made this Thursday at the start of the county council meeting, without arousing any reaction.

Vijay Monany then echoed it on Twitter.

She would be?

No, she went to the Trocadéro and confirmed to me her political choice in favor of Zemmour.

She is free to choose but should also have drawn the necessary conclusion, resign from the LR group.

She did not do it.

I took my responsibilities.

“Neither he nor she (

Marie-Blanche Pietri

) opened their mouths during the session, observes Philippe Dallier.

Not having spoken at that time, and then throwing myself into food for the trolls (

supporters

) of Éric Zemmour, it's pretty pathetic.

“It was out of session, I could not react at that time”, justifies the councilor of the canton of Blanc-Mesnil.

The former senator made his decision after learning of the presence of Marie-Blanche Pietri at the Trocadéro on March 27.

"I called her after sending her sponsorship, she replied that she had done it for democracy," he rewinds.

“The original idea was to allow different right-wing sensitivities to be represented”

At the time, several elected officials like François Bayrou (MoDem) had called for sponsoring Éric Zemmour, Marine Le Pen (RN) or Jean-Luc Mélenchon (LFI) so that they could compete for the presidential election.

“Then I was sent a photo of activists at this meeting where she appeared,” continues Philippe Dallier, to whom the person concerned would then have confirmed her support for the far-right polemicist.

The group president asked him to “draw the necessary conclusion, resign from the LR group”.

In vain.

Supporter of the union of the rights, Vijay Monany regrets this sanction.

“The LR group at the departmental council is in fact an LR group and various right, he underlines.

Precisely because the original idea was to allow different right-wing sensitivities to be represented.

»

In the meantime, Éric Zemmour's candidacy has been there.

“And I do not chair an LR-Reconquest group”, points out Philippe Dallier.

If Vijay Monany joined this new political party, Marie-Blanche Pietri, according to the latter, is not there ― yet?

- took his card.

Contacted, the departmental councilor of the canton of Gagny could not be reached.
