Strong Cologne squint after victory in the Rhine derby on Europe

1. FC Köln has impressively underlined its European Cup ambitions.
In the Rhenish derby of the Bundesliga at Borussia Mönchengladbach, the team of coach Steffen Baumgart came to a superior and deserved 3: 1 (3: 0) on Saturday evening.
Antony Modeste (5th), Florian Kainz (20th) and Dejan Ljubicic (34th) shot a clear lead for the guests in front of 59,724 spectators in the sold-out Borussia Park.
Mönchengladbach - Breel Embolo (85th) only managed to improve the result for Gladbach in the final phase.
Due to the success, the Cologne team moved up to sixth place in the table at least until Sunday.
