It is unfortunate, but this is the truth: the elected representatives of the national camp, the coalition and the opposition alike, have abandoned their principles for an ideological void, which begins and ends with "only Bibi" or "just not Bibi". And speaking of which, it is important to remind anyone who believes in the worldview of the right that Netanyahu has also done some bad things.

In the video: Netanyahu's speech at the right-wing demonstration in Jerusalem (Walla!)

It hurts, it's unfortunate, it bothers the heart, but it's the truth and it cannot be denied.

The ideology on the political right is dwindling, dwindling.

Almost all the elected representatives of the national camp set aside the discussions on the Land of Israel, and on Zionism, and on settlement, and on security, and on the Jewish identity of the state, and were drawn, by their various parties, to a place of ideological emptiness, beginning and ending with "Just not Bibi."

On the ideology that has died in the right wing within the ranks of the coalition, there seems to be nothing to expand.

It begins with Gideon Saar, who was once a man with a sharp, clear and unstuttering national worldview, and today is entirely enslaved, from beginning to end, to a personal war against the Likud chairman; it continues with Avigdor Lieberman, who made a career out of his attacks on Arab MKs. Opportunities reminded them that "even at the end of World War II the Nuremberg trials were executed, not only the criminals but also the collaborators with them", and also added that "I hope this will be the fate of the collaborators in this house" - then decided to sit with them in coalition, just because That his hatred of Netanyahu is the only thing greater than his hatred of them;

And it ended with the sad show of Naftali Bennett and his friends, those who have nothing to do with the ideological gang that ran here from studio to studio a year ago and sought the public's trust in the election.

Nothing remains of the ideology that led them to ensure that they do not sit with Meretz.

Nothing remains of the ideology that led them to commit not to sit down with work.

Nothing remains of the ideology that led them to swear not to make Yair Lapid prime minister, or in Bennett's exact words: "I am a right-wing man and he is a left-wing man, and I do not act against my values."

Nothing is left of the ideology that led them to declare that they will not sit with the RAAM and even ran them to the Election Commission to demand that it completely disqualify the Islamic Movement party, claiming that it both supports terrorism and denies the existence of Israel as a Jewish state.

Saar and Lieberman and Bennett and their friends knew that there was an easy possibility of forming a right-wing government.

But the right-wing government did not interest them.

"Just Not Bibi" interested them much more.

So yes, right, they had good personal reasons to take revenge on the man.

Each of them, in turn, is bitter about it.

And yet, in debating between the possibility of advancing the world of their national values and those of their voters, and the winking opportunity to knock Netanyahu out, they chose the latter option, without hesitation.

Levant does not care that senior members of his government have once again made Abu Mazen a relevant man.

And he does not care that his defense minister hosts him in his house, ignoring the fact that he pays a monthly salary to anyone who is willing to murder Jews.

And he does not care that his new friends are running a false campaign against the settlers.

And he does not care that his coalition is sitting on the finger of the one who went to encourage those who rioted against the Jews in Acre.

If a year ago someone told Bennett to take Merav Michaeli and Yair Golan and Nitzan Horowitz from the margins of public discourse, and turn them into the people who run the country, Bennett would file a defamation lawsuit against him.

But that Bennett is dead, and now we have a new Bennett.

Free from ideology.

Clean from a worldview.

Free from past commitments.

It is enough for him to have a sign on his door announcing that the prime minister is sitting here, and that Benjamin Netanyahu's name is affixed with the title of opposition leader in the news, and everything else is much less important.

Personal accounts

A similar story is found, sadly, on the other side of the barricade as well.

With the Likudniks.

From the day the current government was formed, they have been pouring fire and brimstone on it.

"Bad government", "dangerous government", "government that alienates the Jewish identity of the state", "government that succumbs to the Islamic movement", and more and more.

I, by myself, sign almost every word.

Partner in almost every review.

What else?

Just as Bennett and Lieberman and Saar could, if they only wanted to, form a national government, Netanyahu also holds the key to forming such a government.

His little shift aside, and we have another government.

Right-wing government.

A government that cares about Jewish identity.

Dream Government.

This is not happening, because just as Bennett and Lieberman and Saar are willing to throw away all the ideology they grew up with as long as Netanyahu remains in opposition, so the Likudniks are willing to throw away all options to replace the "disaster government" - provided Benjamin Netanyahu heads.

I completely understand what the Likud's insistence is about.

The great support that Netanyahu has in the public cannot be ignored.

It is impossible to ignore the 30 seats that the party he led in the election received.

All true.

But true Israeli patriots, and the Likudniks certainly are, should ask themselves what good is it to them that they hold the best stock on the market, if it cannot be used.

And it's not that we did not try.

We tried again and again and again and again.

And on each of these occasions, Netanyahu has indeed gained greater support than any other party leader.

But that was not enough.

And because that was not enough, he is now in the opposition and we are all now with a coalition of Yair Golan and Ibtissam Maraana and Walid Taha.

So true, Bennett and Saar and Lieberman's decision not to sit down with him at any cost is an outrageous decision.

A petty decision, which shows that before the ideology this trio, like the rest of their members, have personal accounts that are more important to them than any possibility of realizing sublime ideological ideas.

And they deserve great contempt for it.

And I fully share this contempt, which the Likudniks have for them.

But having said all that, where exactly does this take us?

We can be angry at them, and stomp on the floor, and write against them, and criticize them, and swear that we will not vote for any of them in the future.

But all this does not save us from their government, which the Likudniks themselves declare is terrible.

And I seriously ask, my Likud members, what kind of ideology do you have, if you are willing for such a bad government to control us, as long as you stay with your chairman, even if he can contribute nothing to improve the situation? And if so, and if so, Does not bring you even the first thought on the matter,

Promote ideas

Each of us goes to the polls on Election Day when Basel collects the issues he seeks to promote through his ballot.

I have there, among other things, the Jewish identity of the state, and a deep correction in the judicial system, and the encouragement of settlement, and the war on terror and more and more.

And since as far as politics is concerned, I do not believe in people, but in the need to promote ideas, I am not very interested in who makes up the list I am voting for.

My selection criteria are simple and easy.

He who can more than others promote what I believe in, will win my vote.

So in everything that has to do with my party, so in everything that has to do with the prime minister that I hope my party will support.

And from the general to the individual.

I have no problem with Benjamin Netanyahu.

If he has the ability to both be elected and advance the ideological aspirations of the national camp, hello and cheer.

I'm with him.

But if he can not, I see no problem if in his place will be Israel Katz or Yuli Edelstein or Dudi Amsalem or Katie Sheetrit.

As mentioned, not the man interests me.

The possibility of advancing the ideology interests me.

Wait, ask, and what will happen if the government falls?

Well, if anyone can assure me that this time Netanyahu will achieve 61 and also act in accordance with the camp's worldviews, I'm in favor.

Since no one can guarantee that this time it will happen, I seriously ask: is it not worth trying to form a full-fledged right-wing government right now?

Netanyahu's legacy

And here, when we are dealing with the case of Benjamin Netanyahu, it is worth opening brackets and saying something important.

Important to discourse, important to history, important in case the day comes and he returns to power.

One might think that Netanyahu was a good prime minister, that he was an excellent prime minister, that he was better than all his predecessors.

But some of his fans are not content with that.

In the past year, and perhaps in recent years, in trying to present him as perfect, they have been conducting an aggressive whitening campaign for all his sins and iniquities.

Sometimes, in contrast, it is somewhat reminiscent of what the left did here after Rabin's assassination, when every act of his was presented in retrospect as positive, and anyone who mentioned their bad moves was responsible, portrayed as an instigator and as a heretic in particular.

Well, Netanyahu did a lot of good things.

really.

But he who believes in the worldview of the right and wants to promote it, can not ignore even the bad things he left behind.

Netanyahu is first and foremost to blame for where our justice system is today.

The one that the right criticizes, morning and evening.

It is not that Netanyahu refrained from making changes to it because he could not.

Netanyahu kept it, because he believed it was good.

"I have shelved any proposal intended to undermine or curtail in any way the independence of the court," he boasted at the retirement ceremony of President Dorit Beinisch, praising her for preserving the Supreme Court "miraculously," despite half the criticism.

"You stood in the burst in a most impressive way," he complimented her.

And yes, it's nice to attack Shai Nitzan, who is indeed worthy of every word of criticism, but it is desirable, at the same time, to remember that Netanyahu appointed him Attorney General, and that Netanyahu sailed in his praise and said of him: "Shai Nitzan is the most deserving candidate. In general and balanced ", and that the only ones who voted against this appointment were Uzi Landau, and the three representatives of religious Zionism - Uri Ariel, the late Uri Orbach and also one of the season named Naftali Bennett.

The bad things Netanyahu did cannot be ignored.

Right-wing demonstration, a week ago (Photo: Reuven Castro)

Alongside all this, it should be remembered that Netanyahu signed the Hebron agreement, and Netanyahu was afraid to evacuate Khan al-Ahmar, and Netanyahu chose not to regulate the young settlement, and Netanyahu was responsible for the situation in which the Negev deteriorated, and Netanyahu was responsible for the Palestinian rampage in Area C. He had the power to correct all the ills that the right-wing is pointing to today, and he avoided that.

There is another long, very long list, but I will confine myself to one more example that will clarify how dangerous for our future the process of erasing his problematic past, which his fans are working so hard on.

Remember Netanyahu's decision to release more than a thousand terrorists in the Shalit deal?

Remember that hundreds of them were sentenced to life in prison for their part in the murder of Jews, and in the planning of the murder of Jews?

Well, Netanyahu released them and some, surprisingly, went back to murdering Jews.

Chief of Staff Baruch Mizrahi was killed by a terrorist released by Netanyahu. The three boys - Naftali Frenkel, Gil-Ad Shaar and Eyal Yifrach - were killed by a squad commanded by a terrorist released by Netanyahu. Killed by a cell operated by a terrorist released by Netanyahu Rabbi Michi Mark was killed by a terrorist who was also released by Netanyahu.

Let's tell the truth: if it were not for Netanyahu - if it were Shimon Peres or Yitzhak Rabin who were responsible for the release of the terrorists - we would say about them that they have Jewish blood on their hands.

When it comes to Netanyahu, there are mind engineers, who work full time to make him forget.

And as mentioned, it can be argued that despite everything, Netanyahu's advantages outweigh his disadvantages.

It can also be argued that tomorrow's Netanyahu will be better than yesterday's.

But the facts should not be ignored.

To be honest, it has to be said that despite everything written here, there are islands on the right that have remained true to ideology.

Bezalel Smutritz, and Orit Struck and Simcha Rotman and Itamar Ben Gvir and others.

And yet, even after we mentioned it, in front of the vast majority - of the Likud, and of the right, and of Yisrael Beiteinu, and of new hope - who chose to swear allegiance to "Rak Bibi" or "Rak La Bibi", the situation is quite depressing.
