The Israeli occupation intensifies settlement operations in the occupied city of Jerusalem to Judaize it and change its features and Palestinian Arab identity, in parallel with continuous attempts to change the historical and legal status quo in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The National Office for Defending Land and Resisting Settlements of the Palestine Liberation Organization stated that the occupation authorities announced last week three settlement plans in occupied Jerusalem, including the establishment of 600 settlement units on the lands of the towns of Walaja and Beit Safafa, and the establishment of another 500 units in the area extending from south of Jerusalem to the outskirts of Bethlehem. Establishing 600 settlement units in the area of the old train complex, south of the Old City of Jerusalem, noting that the old train line, also known as the Jerusalem-Jaffa train, is the first railway to be established in Palestine and was inaugurated in September 1892.
The report indicated that the Jerusalemites thwarted yesterday the settlers' plan to storm Al-Aqsa in large numbers with the aim of changing the status quo in the Al-Haram Al-Sharif. The settlers' incursions, but these brutal practices did not reach their goal thanks to the steadfastness of the Jerusalemites, forcing the occupation forces to withdraw from its squares.
The report pointed out that the occupation authorities announced a plan to complete the construction of the apartheid wall in the area extending from west of Jenin to west of Tulkarm, to completely separate the West Bank from the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 with the aim of restricting the movement of Palestinians.
The report indicated that the occupation seized 264.4 dunums of lands from the areas of Humsa al-Fouqa and Furush Beit Dujt in the northern Jordan Valley to establish a new settlement, while its forces continued to raze areas in the Muwfeya Plain in the Jordan Valley to expand a settlement established on its lands.
The report stated that the occupation forces demolished a house and an agricultural facility in the village of Kafr Malik in Ramallah, closed several agricultural roads in the town of Aibnabus in Nablus, to prevent Palestinian farmers from reaching their lands, and closed the iron gate at the entrance to the town of Beit Ainun, north of Hebron, and prevented Palestinians from leaving or entering it.
The report stated that the settlers continue their attacks on the cities and towns of the West Bank under the protection of the occupation forces, as they stormed Tel Rumeida in the center of Hebron, the village of Beitin in Ramallah, Qusra and Qaryut in Nablus, and Kafr al-Labad in Tulkarm. To establish a new settlement outpost, they stormed (Joseph's Tomb) and the archaeological area in Sebastia in Nablus, while destroying Palestinian agricultural crops in the Marmalah area in the northern Jordan Valley.
