First responders become heroes.
Münchberg - drama on the Easter weekend in Bavaria!
A truck driver apparently had a few human guardian angels between the big holidays on Holy Saturday.
The man passed out at the wheel of his car in the middle of the freeway.
He almost got burned.
Upper Franconia/Münchberg: The truck driver falls unconscious on the A9 – and has a guardian angel
First responders saved the life of the 42-year-old truck driver.
According to initial police findings, the man lost consciousness while driving on Autobahn 9 near Münchberg in the Hof district.
His semi-trailer truck therefore first drove into the outer crash barrier, was then thrown back onto the roadway and crashed into the middle crash barrier three times.
A tire of the vehicle overheated and caught fire.
First responders first rescued the man, then they fought the fire with a fire extinguisher.
The 42-year-old regained consciousness, but was still taken to the hospital.
According to the police, the influence of alcohol or drugs could be ruled out.
The man was believed to have passed out for health reasons.
