Extraordinary loads were recorded today (Sunday) at Ben Gurion Airport, when many Israelis took advantage of the freedom in favor of vacations in Israel and around the world.

As expected, the first day of the Passover week is packed with passengers at the airport as well as at the various border crossings in the direction of Yarad and Egypt.

The people of Israel are vacationing on the Sabbath and hundreds of thousands will spend their holiday abroad. This morning there were very long queues at Ben Gurion Airport, which are expected to last throughout the week. It is important to emphasize that there are less busy hours with slightly fewer flights during the day, but during most hours, Ben Gurion Airport is very busy. Nearly 70,000 passengers.

The long queues are recorded both at the Taba crossing on the way to Egypt and the opposite way.

More than 5,000 Israelis will leave for Egypt today to spend the weekdays in Sinai and the queues there last for long hours, as can be seen in the glider photos published by the Airports Authority.

The Airports Authority has set up an air-conditioned tent about 80 meters long, which will allow some of those waiting to stand in line in a more pleasant way.

Of course the tent is not enough for everyone and it only stands in a certain part of the queue.

The Airports Authority recommends arriving in the afternoon, to split the numbers arriving and the crowd on the long queues.

The long queues are also recorded at the crossing to Jordan, as many Israelis are expected to spend the weekdays of the festival in Aqaba.

One of the significant reasons for the long queues is the shortage of employees at the Airports Authority, which is responsible, among other things, for land crossings.

Long queues are also recorded on the Egyptian side of the border, for those returning to Israel.

In talks with tourism officials in Sinai, they say that the reason is delays on the Israeli side.

The Ministry of Health allows you to fill out an entry form for travelers to Sinai, even before leaving for Egypt, thus saving another step in the process of returning to Israel, in order to reduce the wait and queues a little more.

A spokesman for the Airports Authority said: "The Rabin" border crossing "to Jordan is busy this morning. Avoid waiting in line for a long time. "
