Once the IDF has addressed the difficult commuting problems and is in the midst of an extensive move to improve food quality in the various units, the next step is treatment in the field of medicine.
The Technology and Logistics Division is currently in the process of formulating a comprehensive plan for the availability and quality of medicine provided to servants, but in the meantime, until the plan is approved, the division presents a plan for significantly improving the medical response provided to servants in the Arava.
To this day, thousands of servicemen in the Arava have had to travel long hours on their way to IDF clinics in Be'er Sheva, Tzrifin, Haifa and more, to receive basic medical treatment. - Among other things, in Shizafon, Rangers, in the IDF, OGMR 80, a fact base of the Air Force and more.
In light of the serious problem, the IDF is currently establishing a unique clinic in the Arava, at the military engineering school near the fact cliffs, which in addition to doctors and family doctors, will also have gynecologists, dermatologists, orthopedists and more. Physiotherapy Institute and Imaging Institute, and mental health services will be provided. The IDF is also expected to establish a unique transportation system for Arava servants that will allow them to reach the clinic for medical treatment.
For this purpose, a soldier who makes an appointment at the clinic will be able to book a shuttle to the place.
The cost of establishing the medical center is estimated at NIS 8.5 million, which the head of the ATL, Maj. Gen. Michel Janko, has already allocated for the move. In recent days, it has been agreed that an officer with the rank of lieutenant colonel will be in charge of the new medical center.
The IDF explains that the intention is to provide a different medical experience for Arava servants, and to allow them to receive medical services remotely as well.
According to the plan, a gynecologist will be available to female soldiers four times a week and the waiting time will not be more than two weeks, a dermatologist will be available twice a week with a wait of up to three weeks, an orthopedist will be available twice a week and the wait will last up to two weeks. Will only last a few days.
Now one can only hope that the IDF will soon complete the formulation of a comprehensive plan for root canal treatment in the entire IDF medical system.
