Wolfratshausen/Schäftlarn – The local branch of the DLRG Schäftlarn-Wolfratshausen recently held its annual general meeting.
Among other things, it became clear that accommodation for two vehicles was urgently needed.
The DLRG members have been helping out at the corona test stations in and around Wolfratshausen since 2020.
According to the second local chairman, Mathias Feichtbauer, more than 3,000 hours of voluntary work went into the tests.
Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner in particular felt very connected: "Thank you for your commitment."
From 2021, the DLRG could also bill for the tests.
"This enabled us to generate a good financial cushion," reported Feichtbauer.
A reserve accumulated that was set aside for the upgrading of a service garage.
The money is ready, but what is missing is suitable accommodation.
"We are looking for a frost-proof accommodation option for two vehicles with a trailer and a small storage room with the possibility of maintaining materials," emphasized operations manager Sebastian Hafner urgently.
2,186 watch hours worked
Any reference to the DLRG is therefore very welcome.
Hafner also announced impressive numbers in terms of deployment times: "Alone at Lake Starnberg in St. Heinrich, 2,186 watch hours were worked."
In addition, according to training manager Stefanie Dienel, the swimming training in the new inter-communal indoor pool in Geretsried is now going well.
"From the beginners' swimming lessons to the training for the lifeguards," explained Dienel.
The “Wolfratshausen training pool” project would also go well.
"The water rescuers are heard regularly and were able to contribute all their ideas," said Feichtbauer.
The DLRG was also not idle when it came to helping Ukraine.
Robert Klingel, first chairman of the local association, was involved as a truck driver in an aid transport.
"He was able to report first-hand," says Feichtbauer.
2021 has been a successful year for the water rescuers of the DLRG Schäftlarn-Wolfratshausen.
"And 2022 got off to a good start," the deputy chairman said happily.
