Desert air meets Germany.

The warm air also brings new Saharan dust.

The temperatures are rising.

Blood rain is announced in the south.

Munich – Germany is flooded with warm air from the Sahara.

The desert sand in the air dims the sunlight.

The sky is partly milky and streaky.

This Wednesday, April 13, the cloud of dust will reach the north-west and west of the country.

The temperatures remain at maximum values of around or over 20 degrees.

Weather in Germany: Sahara dust cloud moves over Germany again

On Thursday, the Sahara dust will spread further to the middle of Germany in the south and south-east.

Blood can fall here.

As rain washes away the dust particles, the desert sand becomes visible on surfaces.

The dust from the Sahara left its mark on cars and window panes in March.

The phenomenon caused long queues at the car washes.

But the yellow-reddish sky was simply spectacular, the sunset and dawn more intense than usual.

Now the weather spectacle is repeated.

Especially in March, April and May there are always such days of Sahara dust, explains meteorologist Andreas Machalica from

wetter.com.

This year for the second time in northern Germany and for the third time in southern Germany.

However, the current dust event is weaker than in mid-March, according to the German Weather Service (DWD).

Germany weather: Rain washes out Saharan dust

With the Sahara dust and the desert air, it will probably be over quickly this time.

There is already a low called "Quella" over the North Sea, which causes cold air.

From the northwest it will become increasingly cloudy during the day.

How the Sahara dust is moving over Germany can be seen on a satellite photo shared by the DWD on Twitter.

"The structures suggest Sahara dust," writes the DWD about the recording.

The first rain sets in late Wednesday afternoon.

According to weather expert Machalica, a band of rain stretches from the Eifel to Schleswig-Holstein.

Short thunderstorms are also possible locally in the north-west and in the Black Forest in the evening.

Otherwise it remains mostly dry and friendly.

And at times the Sahara dust clouds the sky.

Because clouds can also form due to the Sahara dust.

Moisture in the atmosphere accumulates on the dust particles.

Maundy Thursday is still warm in the south – with highs of up to 23 degrees.

In the north, on the other hand, it will be cooler with temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees, according to the DWD.

A rain front is spreading from Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, to Berlin and Brandenburg.

It's moving further to the southeast.

A change in the weather at Easter is announced

It is significantly cooler on Good Friday in the north.

According to the DWD, the maximum values are between 8 degrees on Rügen and up to 22 degrees on the Upper Rhine.

There will be drizzle in the north-east and showers can be expected in the Alps.

The nights are getting cold.

In the north and east, values around 3 degrees to minus 1 degrees are announced, there is widespread ground frost.

What will the weather be like at Easter 2022?

The chances of sunny and dry Easter weather are good.

But there could be another surprise.
