Ankara, SANA-
The Turkish Activ Haber website revealed that cadres in the ruling Justice and Development Party are discussing the possible loss of the upcoming parliamentary elections, in parallel with the continued decline in the party’s popularity rate in electoral polls.
In today's report, the website indicated that some members of the ruling party led by Recep Tayyip Erdogan are concerned that the political power in the country will change, pointing out that a prominent Turkish minister said that if the Justice and Development Party loses in the 2023 elections, it will certainly form a separate party.
The website indicated that the AKP's local governments also intend to take a stand according to the results of the upcoming elections. In the event of losing the elections, it is very likely that the mayors will shift to the ranks of new parties.
An opinion poll conducted by the Eurasia Foundation revealed that the ruling People's Alliance led by Erdogan would receive 32.6 percent of the vote, while the opposition Nation Alliance would receive 39.3 percent of the vote.
