The old youth center on St. Georgenweg has been broken into.

Young people between the ages of 13 and 15 smashed windows and raged inside.

Mayor Frank Zellner wants to file a criminal complaint on behalf of the market community.

Peißenberg

– The destructiveness that a handful of young people showed when they broke into the old walls (we reported) caused those responsible to shake their heads.

Inside, the association "Freie Künstler Peißenberg" had already started with the renovation.

As is well known, frontman Moritz Hummig and his team want to expand the old Juze into a cultural meeting place for young artists.

Utensils such as a pizza oven or a piano were hired.

The mold was removed from the ceilings and walls with special chemicals.

The building was also heated.

Now the burglary: "Before we've really started with the renovation," Hummig regrets, "they'll knock the building down." Just repairing the shattered window panes will cost 2,000 euros.

Inside, the youngsters opened buckets of paint and smeared them around.

Graffiti was painted on the wall with spray cans, empty crates were left behind and the remainder of the mold remover was sprayed on.

"Destroy it, that's not possible.

Then they should start a band."

“It was definitely not healthy for the youngsters.

It stank like hell,” reports Hummig.

The young people's action was "simply pointless".

"I understand your boredom," explains Hummig, "but destroying it doesn't work at all.

Then they should rather start a band.” Hummig doesn't want to “make life unnecessarily difficult” for the young people: “But everything should be fine.” If necessary, the young people could lend a hand.

The market town is still the owner of the old Juzes.

Mayor Frank Zellner wants to press charges in any case: "Of course, this has to be treated as a criminal offense.

I won't give in."

The old Juze is not the only public building in Peißenberg that has recently been devastated.

The station toilet at the "Flöz" community center had to be closed for the third time.

"You just stand there in awe," says Zellner.

There are still problems with uninvited party guests at the reading garden behind the library.

And most recently, young people even went to secondary school.

Taking precautions against such actions is virtually impossible.

"Honestly, I don't intend to have a fence built around the old Juze," says Zellner.

The mayor now hopes that the old walls will be revived soon.

Contractual agreement between "Freien Künstler Peißenberg" and the market community is still pending

In autumn, the association “Freie Künstler Peißenberg” wants to invite you to a symbolic opening.

The event, Hummig and Zellner revealed at an on-site visit, is supported by the Sparkassen-Jubiläumsstiftung.

Whether the celebration will actually take place still depends on the contractual agreement between the market and "free artists".

The municipality had already submitted a first draft, but Hummig, after consultation with his club colleagues, commissioned a notary to draw up his own contract text.

This draft should be available by the end of April.

According to the decision of the market council, the association should be given the opportunity to buy the building after a leasing phase.

Hummig would like to have this already regulated as a “smooth transition” in the contract.

In addition, there is still a need for clarification with regard to traffic safety and a possible reversion of the building to the municipality.
