Fayrouzah Sports Club is one of the distinguished clubs in Homs, and it has many advanced positions in local championships, most notably the Women's Football League title.
Club president Sahar Dib said in a statement to SANA that the club was founded in 1987 and has managed, during the past three years, to supply the clubs with many promising talents that emerged during the tournaments, such as basketball players Mark Diba, Azmi Adeeb, Mirna Hoshan and Marvin Hawara, player of the Syrian national football team for juniors. In addition to the player Shahd Al-Othman, who won first place in the Syrian championship in running in 2021 and won the Republic Championship in the suburb in the cub category, which was held this year.
Deeb added that the women's football team excelled this year as a result of great efforts made by the management, the coaching and technical staff of the team, in addition to the support of the club's fans. National teams can supply the best players in all games.
The club’s football official, Fadi Greer, indicated that the beginnings of the female football team in the club were in 2017, and the team participated in the first division tournament for women and in the women’s league for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, and during the 2021-2022 season, it participated in the second division session for women and won second place, and was crowned with the league championship title For the current season for women.
And Gharir indicated that in the first leg of the women's league for the current season, the team won 6 matches and drew one, and in the second leg won 5, drew one, lost one, scored 35 points, scored 21 goals and conceded 9 goals, and goalkeeper Christine Hannoush won the best goalkeeper, and the team is currently preparing To participate in the West Asian Championship, which will be held in Jordan next July.
In addition to football, the club plays basketball and table tennis for all groups, male and female, athletics and some individual games. It is one of the third-class clubs in all games, with the exception of football for the women’s category, which is classified in the first degree.
