Municipality of Königsdorf is planning forest children's cards with space for 22 children

Königsdorf – nature as a space for learning, play and experience at any time of the year and in any weather: a forest kindergarten in the municipality of Königsdorf should be able to offer this to the target group as early as September.

However, the sponsorship does not want to take over the community.

An operator is to be found promptly as part of an expression of interest process.

In order to increase the number of childcare places available, Königsdorf wants to open a new forest kindergarten.

It is scheduled to start operating in September near the Hochland youth settlement.

"Of course, the appointment is very sporty," explained Managing Director Andreas Baumann.

But when it comes to daycare places, there is a fire everywhere.

Land negotiations and coordination with the authorities are currently underway, Rainer Kopnicky said.

A group with a maximum of 22 children is currently planned.

"Of course we also have to find staff for this," added the mayor.

Set up wider

The initiative met with broad approval in the municipal council: "Such a kindergarten was long overdue," commented Marlies Woisetschläger (UBL) on the project.

She is glad that the municipality not only increases the number of childcare places per se with the founding of a forest kindergarten, but that Königdorf is also positioning itself more broadly.

"The number of people who want their children to grow up consciously in nature is increasing," says the UBL representative.

Luise Seemayer (CSU) is also in favor of the forest kindergarten: "Competition stimulates business." Every child is different, she thinks it's a great idea to let them explore their surroundings.

In addition, Königsdorf is a growing community that has to cope with the correspondingly higher number of caregivers.

However, the municipality does not want to take over the sponsorship, explained Baumann.

This should be assigned separately.

For this purpose, there should be an expression of interest procedure in the near future, in which potential sponsors can offer their willingness to take over.
