Mass shootings in the US grow: they go 109 in 2022 3:49
(CNN) --
Two teenagers were killed and several people were injured in a shooting that stemmed from a large party in Pittsburgh over the weekend, according to police.
Investigators are looking for multiple suspects in the shooting, which occurred early Sunday in the city's East Allegheny neighborhood at a property that was rented through short-term rental company Airbnb.
The teens killed were 17-year-old men, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office.
Eight other people were shot and five others were injured while fleeing gunfire, Pittsburgh Police Chief Scott Schubert said.
About 200 people attended the party, most of whom were minors, the city said in a statement.

The party ended with 90 shots
The shooting happened around 12:30 am and when police arrived at the scene, they saw several youths running from the area, authorities said.
Investigators are still working to determine a motive for the shooting, however, Schubert said some type of altercation occurred when gunshots were exchanged.
Schubert called the scene chaotic, with more than 90 shots from multiple weapons fired both inside and outside the house.
“You had people running away, just trying to get out of there,” the police chief said.
"Up to 50 shots were fired inside, causing some partygoers to jump out of windows and sustain injuries including broken bones and lacerations. Several more shots were fired outside the home," the news release says.
"Here we are at Easter, and we have several families, two who will not see a loved one," said the chief.
Investigators were collecting evidence from as many as eight separate crime scenes, authorities said Sunday morning.

Pittsburgh public schools are in a 'modified lockdown'
Pittsburgh Public Schools is in a "modified lockdown" Monday in response to the shooting, which the district called "horrible."
"Many Pittsburgh families were affected by today's tragedy," Acting Superintendent Wayne N. Walters said in a statement.
"A modified lockdown means that only people with scheduled appointments can enter or leave our buildings," Walters said.
"Our thoughts are with the families of lost loved ones and anyone experiencing grief and trauma during this time," he added.
It's unclear if the shooting victims or the partygoers were students in the Pittsburgh Public Schools district, but Schubert said "the vast majority" of the partygoers were minors.

The renter of the property where the shooting took place was banned from Airbnb
The person who booked the property where the party took place has been banned from the platform for life, Airbnb said in a statement to CNN.
Company officials said they "condemn the behavior that allegedly prompted this criminal gun violence."
Airbnb has contacted the Pittsburgh Police Department and Mayor Ed Gainey's office, the statement said.
Airbnb notes that parties are not allowed as part of its rental agreements and that this was "an unauthorized party, organized without the host's knowledge or consent."
Users must be 18 or older to create an account on the platform, Airbnb said, adding that it is "considering all legal options" against the person who booked the rental.
"We share the outrage of the Pittsburgh community regarding this tragic gun violence. Our hearts go out to everyone affected, including the loved ones of those who lost their lives, the injured victims, and neighbors," Airbnb said in the statement.
