Buitoni and Kinder this month, ice creams and breads too rich in ethylene oxide discovered by the thousands over the past year or even the Lactalis or Spanghero scandals in the mid-2010s. For more than ten years, "business" in the food take center stage.
While 5,000 products are recalled each year, a handful turn into media storms.
However, these health hazards or scandals are often different, sometimes stemming from fraud, which is inherently unacceptable, sometimes from negligence, or even from sequences closer to bad luck than malevolence.

Fortunately, not all of them result in casualties.
Many contaminations or anomalies are identified and contained before the products leave the production sites.
But these cases recall two observations: with urbanization, the French have moved away from the place of production of their food.
Which leaves them no more weak guarantee than trust...
