Because of a hole in the main supply line, the Allmannshausen district of Berg was without water for a long time at Easter.
The fire brigade helped out with canisters.
The municipality solved this problem quickly, but in general it is not well prepared for such emergencies.
Mountain - First the turf arched, then a veritable fountain of mud shot out of a meadow between Allmannshausen and Sibichhausen.
This is how a cyclist observed it on the evening of Easter Sunday, according to Berg's mayor Rupert Steigenberger.
The passer-by informed the waterworks, which reacted immediately - but could not prevent one thing: that all of Allmannshausen was waterless by noon on Easter Monday.
The sudden, unexpected burst pipe caused a state of emergency in the Berger district.

“That was our main supply line – the largest we have in the municipality,” explained Steigenberger when asked by Starnberger Merkur.
It leads from the main fountain in the Pfaffental to the elevated tank in Aufkirchen.
And in that 30 centimeter thick pipe, for reasons that are still unclear, a six or seven centimeter thick hole had opened up.
No wonder that said meadow, under which it lies, was quickly under water or mud.
The mayor reported that no warning had been given to the waterworks beforehand.
After that, the water attendant quickly found that the elevated tank could no longer be filled.
Mayor: "I was glad that we were able to fix it so quickly"
Community workers finally dug down a good two meters to the broken pipe to seal the hole with a clamp.
Steigenberger: "I was glad that we were able to fix it so quickly."
Meanwhile, the fire brigade provided the people in Allmannshausen with emergency rations.
She set up four cubic meter containers in the village, from which the citizens could draw water - if, for example, the toilet flush no longer worked.
The municipality now wants to buy such containers itself.
Because: She is not well prepared for water emergencies.
The municipality has been looking for another fountain location for some time.
According to Steigenberger, test drilling was very promising, but including the approval process, it will certainly be years before another well can go into operation.
"We have to pursue this project vigorously," said Mayor Steigenberger.
The problem: For some time now, the Höhenrainer fountain has only been allowed to be operated in emergencies.
And the one in Harkirchen doesn't supply enough water.
