Moscow, SANA-
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stressed that the attempts to expand NATO near the Russian borders are “not just talk,” calling for preparations for any aggressive actions.
Sputnik quoted Medvedev as saying during a meeting of the Presidium of Science in Moscow today that "all threats are known and mentioned repeatedly, and we are talking first of all about attempts to expand NATO's presence near our borders, this is no longer just an expression and not a set of threats."
Medvedev called for the necessity of preparing for any aggressive action that might occur and thus building a system that would allow us to provide our country with the latest weapons.
Medvedev pointed out that the West is waging an economic war against Russia, stressing that it will not succeed in stifling the economy and isolating Russia from the world and other countries.
And the Russian Tass news agency quoted Medvedev as saying earlier today that "Russia is now in a special situation amid unprecedented pressures and sanctions that represent a clear economic war on it," stressing that Russia is "prepared for that war, and no one will be able to stifle the Russian economy and isolate it from the world."
