With simple materials available in every home, Suzanne Jamil Grikos from Lattakia showed her talent in making the art of origami, which is the art of folding paper in a two-dimensional or three-dimensional form without cutting it, sticking it or even marking it.

Grikos indicated to SANA reporter that the term origami means the art of paper folding that depends on creativity and imagination, and it is a simple, inexpensive art and contains a lot of creativity. 3 years ago, I started imitating some models on social networking sites with recycled paper, then I made shapes of animals, flowers and paintings through colored paper What was well received by people as a unique gift in a new way.

Regarding the method of work, Grikos explained that it only needs cardboard and some accessories, then the models are formed by folding and installing one sheet of colored paper to reach the model to be formed, which takes a long time, effort and focus.

Grikos showed that the art of origami is used to decorate religious places, and today it has become a propaganda tool used by some institutions as a marketing advertisement. It was also used to design a logo for some companies or to communicate a purposeful idea.

Grikos indicated that she participated in a labor union exhibition and another at Tishreen University, where all kinds of existing models were displayed and highlighting the products that won the admiration and praise of visitors.
