Six injured are to be deplored after the accident which occurred on Saturday. A police investigation has been opened, entrusted to the 12th arrondissement police station

They had come to the Foire du Trône for a ride.

They ended up in the hospital.

This Tuesday, the police officers of the police station of the XIIth arrondissement of Paris, in charge of the investigation, seek to clarify the case and especially to establish the responsibilities.

This Saturday, just before the stroke of midnight, a group of friends, aged 20 and 35, who had funfair cravings and more particularly chills, suffered an accident on a roller coaster type carousel. .

Four of them, slightly injured, were treated on the spot, first by the Civil Protection and then by the firefighters.

Two were taken to the hospital, without absolute urgency.

A collision between two wagon trains

The accident took place on the aptly named "Infernal carousel" during the Foire du Trône, the largest in Europe, installed since this Friday and until June 6 on the lawns of Reuilly (XII) with nearly 300 other attractions.

This is the 1,062nd edition of this carnival, after two years of absence and which expects nearly 4 million visitors.

The first investigations of the police established that the accident had been caused by a human error… The police officers on the spot heard the person in charge of the attraction.

“One of the machinists would have made the second convoy leave while the first was at a standstill”, indicates a police source.

The two wagons then collided, one arriving, the other leaving.

“The employee recognizes his fault”, continues this source.

On site, the investigators asked the manager for the pre-employment declaration file concerning the employee of Romanian nationality, to verify that he was indeed declared.

The attraction stopped immediately

"There are checks in progress, indicates for its part the town hall of the 12th arrondissement, in order to understand the origins of the accident and draw the consequences".

This is not the first time that an accident has been reported at the Foire du Trône.

And that the safety of the showmen is called into question.

In 2014, a 17-year-old rode on a thrill ride.

He had lost a toe.

In 2007, a fight on the edge of the rides turned tragic.

Two rival gangs opposed each other.

A policeman who came to intervene was dead, hit by a nacelle.

This Tuesday, the City, which took up the case, clarified that "as the organizer of the Fair, it had the carousel stopped immediately and requested an investigation from the police headquarters, under the technical and safety control of rides.

The carousel is suspended until authorization to return to service by the police headquarters.
