Public utilities are sticking to plans: the draft for Amperoase is in place - the ice rink is canceled

One day after the most recent city council meeting, the jury selected an architect for the new construction of the Amperoase and recommended it to the supervisory board.

Fürstenfeldbruck - "We want to offer something that is appealing in terms of urban planning and of high quality," said Stadtwerke Managing Director Jan Hoppenstedt at a press conference.

"A building that is beautifully integrated into the Amperauen", added sales manager Andreas Wohlmann.

The plan will be presented at a future City Council meeting.

Because: Nothing has changed in terms of the task for the energy supplier, emphasizes Hoppenstedt.

You need a pool for the general public, also for financial reasons.

The deficit must not exceed 1.5 million euros per year, and the day ticket should cost less than ten euros.

"The coexistence of school, clubs and public guests is important," emphasized the Stadtwerke boss.

Because the public swimmers finance school and club sports.

So you have to offer them something.

Six lanes

The new Amperoase will have six lanes of 25 meters each, a teaching pool with a lifting floor and a children's pool with a small slide.

There is also an indoor and outdoor sauna and gastronomy.

The major project is expected to cost 22 million euros – not including the increase in construction costs.

It is hoped that there will be seven million euros in funding - 2.5 million euros of which will be provided by the district.

After discussions with the school supervisory authority, Hoppenstedt is convinced that the six lanes are enough.

"We have to organize the allocation well with the swimming clubs and the schools," he says.

Because one thing is clear: Each railway is only funded with 50 percent.

If the Stadtwerke build eight, as demanded by the water rats, the costs will increase.

In the future, you could distribute more than 20,000 train hours.

And at some point the air base swimming pool will also be operated.

This was renovated in 2008 and offers another five lanes.

Nevertheless, the plan could be extended to eight lanes.

An operating concept with the water rats is also possible.

But nothing more has been said here, says Hoppenstedt.

There are also many cases in which clubs do not work.

"And it's a question of whether it would be in the interest of the city and the public at large."

planning security

The Stadtwerke boss warned against throwing the plans overboard, also in view of the condition of the old pool.

"We need planning security, otherwise there is a risk that costs and schedule will get out of hand." The pool is to be demolished in autumn 2023, and the new one could open in early 2026.

Time is of the essence in order to build the block of buildings for the changing rooms and technology of the ice rink in time.

Because the old ice plant is integrated into the Amperoase.

"We'll do the planning in advance," promised Hoppenstedt.

But you need decisions from the ice rink working group about the client.

Then it can be done in time.

The municipal utilities cannot handle the ice rink as another major project.

"The primary goal is the energy transition and supply."

By the summer, the energy supplier also wants to take care of the air dome over the outdoor pool, which came up at the most recent city council meeting.

Then figures for construction and energy costs should be available.
