Bundesliga club SC Freiburg was the first team to reach the final of the DFB Cup.
Coach Christian Streich's team deservedly won 3-1 (3-0) at second-division Hamburger SV on Tuesday evening.
Nils Petersen (11th minute), Nicolas Höfler (17th) and Vincenzo Grifo (35th / penalty kick) made everything clear for the guests in front of 57,000 spectators in the sold-out Volksparkstadion before the break.
Hamburg – Robert Glatzel's late goal (88th) no longer helped HSV.
In the final on May 21 in Berlin, Freiburg meets either RB Leipzig or 1. FC Union Berlin, who face each other in the Bundesliga duel on Wednesday evening.
The SC has never won the cup and was in the semi-finals in the 2012/13 season.
