Teachers present their artwork in a group exhibition

Ten male and female teachers presented during a group exhibition that opened today, paintings using various techniques and styles, including oil and water painting, handicrafts and ceramics.

The exhibition, which was held by the branch office of the Teachers Union in As-Suwayda in cooperation with the Directorate of Education, witnessed the participation of a number of graduates of the Intermediate Institute of Fine Arts, in addition to non-specialists with artistic talents.

Head of the Activity and Projects Office in the Branch Office of the Teachers’ Union in As-Suwayda Khaled Jamal Abu Fakher spoke to SANA about the importance of the exhibition in highlighting the talents of teachers and presenting them to the public, giving them motivation and incentive to develop them, especially after most of the governorate’s schools included permanent art exhibitions.

The teacher, Bassam Abu Kamel, who participated in the exhibition with three works in watercolor and oil, explained that his works speak of the ancient heritage environment and carry in its folds the blended color revolution and psychological expression by drawing tired faces that turn to optimism, pointing out that the exhibition constitutes a vast area for exchanging experiences.

In turn, the retired teacher and member of the Union of Fine Artists Walid Kamal Al-Din found that these exhibitions help in viewing the artistic experiences of the talented teachers and closely familiarizing themselves with their works, indicating that he had previous collective and individual participations in which he presented paintings that reflect the heritage of As-Suwayda.

For her part, the school, Diala Naqour, indicated that her participation in the exhibition is her first experience after graduating from the Intermediate Institute of Fine Arts, where she participated in a work of art on stained glass entitled “A Girl with a Damascene Spirit”, pointing out that this participation constitutes for her a new and supportive step for future participations.

School Rama Khaddaj participated in the exhibition through 10 oil paintings representing human faces in all their forms, describing their participation as an incentive to enrich her artistic experience.

The school, Rana Al-Kintar, who participated in several ceramic works from the Environmental Synthesis, stressed the importance of continuing to hold exhibitions for teachers for its role in motivating them to give more and creativity and giving them the opportunity to present their artistic production to the public.

While the school, Samah Naqour, indicated that her participation affected her academic experience, especially that she is a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts, with a specialization in drawing and painting, in addition to the fact that she achieves continuous learning.

It is worth noting that the exhibition lasts for three days.
