In the wake of the IDF attack in the Gaza Strip in response to the firing on Israel
,
Hamas leader in Gaza, Yahya Sanwar, convened in his office the representatives of the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip for what was defined as an "emergency discussion."
Hamas wants to signal to Israel that "the finger of the operatives of the organization's military wing is on the trigger."
This means that the rocket launches fired from Gaza at Israel are not necessarily a one-time event.
Senior Islamic Jihad official Ahmad al-Madall said at the end of the conference that the Palestinian factions would remain on alert in light of what was happening in Jerusalem.
He also called on Israeli Arabs to continue to command al-Aqsa.
Following the IDF attack on the Gaza Strip, Hamas and jihad sent messages about their military readiness for the possibility of a campaign. "Al-Aqsa is in real danger and that the entire region will escalate if Israel continues with its plans."
Hamas spokesman in Gaza, Hazem Qassem, noted that "the attack came to cover up Israel's violations and aggression against worshipers at the al-Aqsa Mosque."
The organization tried to downplay the importance of the sites that served as a target for Israeli attacks, noting that "the Israeli bombing was aimed at empty sites."
Hamas took pride in firing airstrikes at Air Force planes during the attack in Gaza, and in a video released last night by the organization, alleged documentation appeared of operatives of the military wing, Izz ad-Din al-Qassam, carrying out the shooting.

At the end of the meeting, it was decided to "raise the state of alert in the remaining days of Passover."
The factions also warned against "settlers' calls to hold the flag parade in Jerusalem."
It will be recalled that a similar discussion was held four days ago in which the factions in Gaza announced a general mobilization in the face of the escalation on the ground.
