Within the framework of cooperation between the Directorates of Education and Culture in Lattakia, the seventh annual festival of school theater was launched today on the stage of Dar Al-Assad for Culture in Lattakia, which includes paragraphs, various paintings, plays, exhibitions of fine art and handicrafts.

Festival coordinator Ghada Darwish said in a statement to SANA that the festival presents various performances of arts of all kinds, including music, theater, fine arts, folk arts, choir playing, singing, dancing and drawing.

The choir group "Rafik Skaf Hall", consisting of 47 students, presented a group of songs, including muwashshahat, musical works and patriotic songs, such as "You are on high, Syria, my love, oh Shadi the tunes, and oh stories that write our names."

Al-Farfa leader and coach Abdul Haq Al-Aqra stressed the importance of music as food for the soul and in order to create a balanced generation that controls the rhythm of its creative life as it controls it in its musical works, as it is a motive for creativity for the advancement of society.

During the festival, the play “The Enchanted Tree” was shown, written by Abdel-Fattah Kalaji, directed by Mayada Deeb and Najat Mohamed. Educational through theater and highlights the importance of the environment and its preservation and stressing the importance of water wealth and its preservation and non-waste.

Young Haider Younes, the owner of the Youth of Love initiative, participated in the song “Oh, the land of my ancestors, the secret of my existence,” which talks about the land, the authenticity of the ancestors, and the deep-rooted roots in history. The song also urges the importance of agriculture and the need to take care of it.

In turn, the participation of Sama Adra, a folk arts trainer in the school theater, showed dancing paintings to the tunes of the song “Shaftak Ya Jafla” from the heritage of the Syrian coast, stressing the need to generalize school theater and expand its activities at the governorate level.

The festival also included the opening of an exhibition of handicrafts and plastic arts, where Shadi Amiri, Head of the Fine Arts Department at the School Theater Department, explained that the exhibition is a qualitative color artistic formation characterized by non-repetition and showing talents in drawing, plastic arts and manual skills of carving and clay. Stay away as much as possible from the topics raised by the war in order to avoid any psychological impact it may leave on the students.

Reem Darwish, supervisor of the School Theater and Art Activities Department, noted the importance of school theater as an educational and educational guide. The spirit and focus attention and imagination and harnessed in the appropriate positive manner.

In turn, Ghaida Muhammad, head of the School Theater Department in Latakia Education, pointed out the importance of highlighting the talents of children in order to develop their talents and personalities through their participation in these works and activities.

At the end of the activities of the first day of the five-day festival, the participating students were honored.
