The soccer world offered its support for Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo and his family following the announcement Monday of his son's death.
The Manchester United and Portugal star had announced in October that he was expecting twins with his partner Georgina Rodríguez.
In December, they announced that they were expecting a boy and a girl.
United wrote to their star player, saying: "Your pain is our pain. Sending love and strength to you and the family at this time, Cristiano."

Brazilian female star Marta wrote to Ronaldo on Instagram, saying: "A lot of strength for you, your partner and all your family."
Former Brazil star and three-time World Cup winner Pele said: "My friend, I send you my prayers and condolences at this very difficult time. May God comfort your hearts and enlighten you every step of the way."
James Rodríguez, Ronaldo's former teammate at Real Madrid, said: "Strength to you and your family."
Former professional soccer player and current TV commentator Gary Lineker tweeted at Ronaldo: "Terrifically sad news. Sincere condolences to you and your family."
United's rival club Manchester City tweeted: "Everyone at Manchester City sends our deepest condolences to you and Georgina."
