Al-Hasakah Governor Ghassan Khalil discussed, during his meeting with the deans of university faculties, solutions to the problem of the faculties stopping from performing their functions after the Qasd militia seized part of it and destroyed the other part by bombing the American occupation planes.
The governor said: There is no alternative to the basic demand, which is the return of university colleges, as they are designed as a college in terms of terraces, spacious halls, and laboratories, and there are no buildings in the province as specifications of university colleges.
Khalil confirmed the university branch's readiness to repeat exams within the next few weeks in the event that the faculties are restored, and in the event that they are not restored, students of the faculties of economics and civil engineering will be transferred to Deir ez-Zor and students of Cordoba University to Aleppo.
The Ministry of Higher Education continues to suspend classes in the faculties of the Al-Furat University branch in Al-Hasakah after the Qasd militia took over the university faculties, destroyed some of them by the American occupation aircraft, and deprived thousands of students of education.
The branch of Al-Furat University in Al-Hasakah includes 8 university colleges and 4 institutes, in addition to open education programs for legal and banking studies.
