Germany's best teacher comes from the FOS/BOS Erding: Jürgen Vetter was suggested by his students and convinced the jury.
There are only 19 award winners in all of Germany.
District – "In 13 years of schooling, I have never had a better teacher than Jürgen Vetter." "He is definitely the number one confidant." "He encouraged us in what we plan to do in the future and gave us the necessary values , in order to be able to go through the future life with self-confidence.” “He is not only the calming influence in the school building, but also the rock in the surf.”
All of these flattering attributions apply to one person – Jürgen Vetter.
Those who are so well received by their students at the FOS/BOS Erding can rightly call themselves "Germany's best teacher".
Vetter is one of 19 teachers, teams and school administrations who were awarded the "German Teachers' Prize - Innovative Teaching 2021".
In Bavaria there is only one other award winner besides him.
“I am very happy that my students nominated me – without my knowledge.
The award came as a great surprise to me,” explains the graduate economist and business graduate, who teaches business administration with accounting, economics and IT in Erding, as well as supervising the practical training.
balancing act between humor and authority
Humor in class is important to him, but authority is always the basis for treating one another with respect.
He thinks it's "brilliant" when "the students get involved".
Working with young people also keeps him young himself.
The FOS/BOS is also proud: “The corona pandemic has put schools and teachers back in the public eye.
It was not uncommon for the lack of technical skills or the motivation of the teachers in homeschooling to be blasphemed.
Exciting distance learning
The fact that this image does not apply to the vast majority of teachers is shown by the presentation of the German Teachers' Prize," says a press release from the school.
Cousin Annika Schmalzbauer and some of her classmates suggested it.
"Especially during the corona crisis, Jürgen Vetter has proven again and again that distance learning does not automatically have to be worse teaching," they wrote in the application.
The jury pointed out that some of the best Bavarian graduates had attended the Erdinger FOS/BOS.
