As in 2017, Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen came out on top in the first round of the presidential election.
Just as the LREM and RN lists also came first in the 2019 Europeans. This is the confirmation of a new duopoly replacing the old LR-PS couple.
The analysis of the results shows that the two finalists are based on two Frances which are opposed term for term, both at the socio-cultural level and geographically, but also in terms of personal and collective trajectory.

● Over 65: 39% for Macron, 18% for Le Pen
The analysis by age groups brings out different profiles between the electorates of the finalists.
They are almost on an equal footing among those under 35 and those aged 50-64, but Marine Le Pen is ahead of its competitor among those aged 35-49, who constitute the heart of the active age groups with dependent children.
Emmanuel Macron outclasses his opponent among those aged 65 and over (39% against 18%).
