Academician Erik Orsenna and linguist Bernard Cerquiglini have written a mischievous little four-handed book entitled
Les Mots immigrés
(Stock).
They return to the origins of French.
We come across Gallic terms (sword, barrel, oak), Roman and Frankish, but also Italian (watercolor, piano, mustache), without forgetting Arabic words (sofa, guitar, alcohol), English, and then, of course, regionalisms.
Through this story, a linguistic and political portrait of France is revealed.
The meeting, hosted by Alice Develey, will take place at the Grand Palais Éphémère, at the Agora, at 12 p.m. on Friday 22 April.

Many writers claim not, while others praise the possibility of improving one's text and confronting it with readings outside one's personal sphere.
We learn well to become a musician, actor or singer, while there are no schools of writing, argue some.
A fact: the workshops are developing everywhere in France, they have existed in the United States for decades.
