The celebration of “Orphan’s Day 11”, which was held by the Child Culture Directorate in the Suwayda Culture Directorate, in cooperation with the Life Skills team, included an art exhibition that included drawings for children, recycling products to combine the environment and origami, a musical paragraph and choir singing.
The celebration, which was held at the Palace of Culture theater, included a folklore performance by Scheherazade Troupe, expressive dance performances for children and young adults, a puppet theater entitled “The Wonderful Soap,” a scene from the Shadow Shadow Theater entitled “Our Young and Our Oldest” and a pantomime scene by Haneen Troupe.
The celebration was accompanied by a storytelling workshop for selected texts from a literary workshop within the cultural product development project, as well as a dance workshop with the participation of orphaned children in the Social Welfare Association in Sweida, group games, competitions, and a seminar for children and young people on cultural and societal issues.
Director of Suwayda Culture, Laila Abu Fakher, indicated in her speech that this celebration is in line with the Ministry’s objectives in supporting the creative movement of children, adolescents and youth and contributing to their building, pointing to the role of the Child Culture Department in rehabilitating young people, especially through life skills team workshops while working to involve children Orphans in this event to plant joy in them.
In turn, the Director of the Child Culture Department, Diala Al-Mulhim, indicated in a statement to SANA that the orphan children were hosted in the Social Welfare Association with the aim of integrating them into the community through the various sessions set up by the life skills team, which is the product of the workshops carried out by the team during the past periods.
