Director of the Department of Asia Affairs at the Russian Foreign Ministry Georgy Zinoviev warned that the West is pumping weapons into Taiwan, as it did in Ukraine.
Russia Today quoted Zinoviev as saying at a session of the Parliamentary Committee on Relations with China in the Russian State Duma, "What happened in Ukraine is similar in terms of methods to what the United States is doing in Taiwan," noting that the United States pumped weapons into Taiwan, which it was doing in Ukraine.
Zinoviev added, "There is a clear similarity between the methods of work of the West in using Taiwan against China and using Ukraine against Russia."
China recently renewed its demand for Washington to stop its arms sales to Taiwan, stressing its strong opposition to this step and that it will take legitimate and strong measures to vigorously defend its sovereignty and security interests.
