Interactive whiteboards instead of the good old chalkboards: 140,000 euros flow into the digitization of the primary and secondary school in Gaißach.
Gaißach - blackboard and chalk have accompanied generations of children through their school days.
Now it's time to say goodbye to the familiar dark green: the new boards are white and can be written on both by hand and digitally: just like in the primary and secondary school in Gaißach, the interactive whiteboard is now being used increasingly in lessons across the country.
All classrooms in Gaißach equipped with whiteboards
Recently, the municipality equipped all classrooms with such whiteboards.
The teachers and, if necessary, the students are connected to these via their PCs.
So you can write on the large white surface from your workplace.
However, it is also possible to edit the surface directly "by hand".
Principal Stephanie Eckert, her deputy Roman Kofler and class teacher Maria Dräxl were enthusiastic about the new job opportunities.
Gaißach benefits from the digital pact for schools
The Gaißach school now has 16 permanently installed whiteboards for the classrooms and three mobile ones for the specialist rooms, as well as 60 PCs for the students.
Together with the school's complete cabling, including the WiFi hotspot, a total of around 140,000 euros has been invested.
Mayor Stefan Fadinger emphasized that the state government's digital pact for schools supports this digitization with 90 percent.
The community, as the school board, has to pay ten percent of the costs itself.
