China called on the member states of the Group of Twenty to work together to achieve stability in the world in the face of risks and challenges, and to avoid politicizing or militarizing the global economy.

Xinhua News Agency quoted Chinese Finance Minister Liu Kun as saying in a speech during the meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of the Group of Twenty, which was held in Washington via video link yesterday and today.. G20 members should commit to improving the international system backed by international law with the United Nations at its core and to avoid Politicizing or weaponizing the global economy.

He expressed China's welcome for all parties to support and participate in the Global Development Initiative with the aim of accelerating the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

He said China will continue to work with all parties to improve the global health governance system and strengthen anti-pandemic financing cooperation within the framework of the World Health Organization in order to implement the important consensus reached by the G20 leaders.

On the statements made by some members of the group on the impact of geopolitical factors on the global economy, the Chinese side stressed that China opposes the politicization of economic issues, and the G20 should stick to its own mandate, ensure discussions focus on economic impacts, and take a comprehensive and balanced approach.
