The 41-year-old defendant, a former police officer who was on leave before resigning in the case, has now resigned.
He is charged with abusing his 8-year-old daughter X at his residence in Fanling on June 15, 2021, and criminally intimidating his wife Y.
The case stated that the defendant and his wife Y had two daughters, including daughter X (8 years old at the time).
The two have been separated since April 2019. The two daughters live with Y, but daughter X will live in the defendant's unit in Huaming Village, Fanling during the holiday.
Calling wife and saying she will hurt daughter X with rope and knife
On the day of the crime, Y received a call from the defendant and asked her where she was and what she was doing.
The next day, the defendant picked up his daughter X to his unit as usual.
On the morning of the 15th of the same month, the defendant called Y again and asked where she was.
At around 1:00 pm, the defendant and Y again argued on the phone.
He asked Y to come to her Fanling unit within 30 minutes, otherwise she would regret it, and he also pointed out that X would be injured with ropes and knives.

He informed the fire department, and then the defendant's mother and firefighters arrived at the scene one after another. The defendant was very emotional and told the firefighters not to come, and pointed a knife to his daughter's heart at close range.
The firefighter finally broke into the house, and the defendant stabbed X in the heart with the tip of a knife. The police officers at the scene finally subdued the defendant and rescued X.

When assisting the investigation, Girl X said that when the defendant asked him if he was willing to go with her, she said that although she said "yes" at the time, she actually didn't want to.
She also claimed that the defendant had tied a belt to the bunk bed in the living room, and she was stepping on a black stool, her head was tucked into the belt loop, and the defendant had pulled the stool away. and hold the bed by hand.
But the defendant grabbed her hand, prevented her from supporting her, and held her feet and pulled her down for a few seconds. X felt the belt loop tighten and made it difficult to breathe.
The defendant then placed the stool under her feet before she could stand back on it.
The judge said that he had received letters from the defendant's family, colleagues, etc., mentioning that the defendant may have committed the crime because of the great pressure at work.
But the judge said the defendant's crimes were serious and would be sentenced to prison.
