NEW - From its electric limousine, the star firm has developed an SUV that can accommodate up to 7 people.

Mercedes is continuing to roll out its range of electric vehicles.

Objective: to reduce its CO2 emissions by more than 50% by the end of the decade.

This is how after the EQA, the EQB, the EQC, the EQV, the EQS and soon the EQE, the firm with the star has just revealed a high-end electric SUV.

Variation of the EQS limousine which hit the headlines when it was launched at the start of the year with its unique hatchback silhouette emphasizing aerodynamics, its high-capacity battery (107.8 kWh) and its gigantic screen covering the the entire dashboard, the SUV EQS incorporates most of its technical characteristics.

Around a wheelbase of 3.12 meters, the SUV is almost 100 mm shorter than the sedan from which it derives but 30 mm wider and above all 200 mm higher.

The variable ground clearance (max. 213 mm) is thus raised by 25 mm compared to the EQS.

However, we doubt that drivers will dare to venture into the sunken roads at the wheel of this luxurious SUV and rub the beautiful rims of up to 22 inches in the elements.

Styling, unsurprisingly, is a cocktail of EQS and EQC for the rear that stays true to the one-piece horizontal light strip.

If they are offered as an option, the steps will not be too much to get on board.

They also contribute to the improvement of the

The impression of space is real, enhanced by the huge panoramic glass roof.

We find the famous panoramic tablet which covers the entire dashboard but it is only standard on the 580 version of 400 kW (544 hp).

The entry-level models are satisfied with the S-Class interface.

The main feature of this SUV is that it can accommodate up to 7 people in three rows.

In this configuration, which may be standard on models marketed on the French market from the end of 2022, the split bench seat in row 2 retracts electrically to allow access to the third row, which is really cut out for children.

Row 3 can also retreat into the floor.

Boot volume ranges from 565 liters in the 5-seater version to 2,020 liters in the 2-seater configuration.

A range of 613 km

The range will consist of two versions: 450 4Matic and 580 4 Matic.

The entry-level version has an output of 265 kW (360 hp) and a torque of 800 Nm. Both models are powered by a 107.8 kWh battery.

They will provide a range of 613 km with the 20-inch tire assembly.

Accepting a charging power of 200 kW, the EQS SUV will be able to recharge its battery to 80% in 31 minutes.

For the benefit of comfort, this statutory SUV will be fitted as standard with Airmatic air suspension coupled with continuously adjustable controlled damping ADS+.

The four-wheel steering system completes the standard equipment.

An option will bring the steering angle up to 10 degrees.

An Offroad program is also among the equipment of this electric SUV.
