Presidential: more than 100 elected officials and associations in the Ile-de-France call to vote for Macron "against the danger of the far right"

2022-04-21T09:08:59.708Z

They are elected, public actors and associations "of the popular strata". Worried about the demobilization of part of the population of their

The idea germinated at the start of the week, after an observation shared during a video meeting of a group of elected officials and associative actors from the Ile-de-France region to "analyze the results of the first round".

“We realized that in our neighborhoods, many people are preparing to abstain or vote blank, deplores Mam's Yaffa, deputy mayor of the 18th arrondissement of Paris.

Because Zemmour has gone so far that now Le Pen seems almost soft…”

So together, they decided to dismantle this "angelization" in a forum highlighting "points of the discriminatory and racist project of Marine Le Pen".

Like athletes, then artists last week, or even fourteen left-wing mayors and the president of the departmental council of Seine-Saint-Denis this Wednesday, they are clearly calling for a vote for the outgoing president.

"For us, there is no hesitation, we vote for Macron and not abstention", asserts Mam's Yaffa, as do all the signatories from all political backgrounds.

“Whatever one may think of his policy for the past five years and the years to come, the only fight that matters today is that against the extreme right,” they conclude.

The forum of "elected officials, public actors and associations of the working classes"

“Next Sunday April 24, France will face its destiny.

Never has our country been so close to falling into the dark hours it has known in the course of its history.

Faced with this perilous situation, it is our duty and our responsibility to take up the pen to alert, guide and above all mobilize all of our compatriots without distinction, with particular emphasis on the popular strata.

The first populations to suffer the wrath of the extreme right and its cohort of cruelties unleashed on the Republic are unquestionably the working classes, particularly the visible minorities from Africa (North Africa and sub-Saharan).

Our populations are the first victims of discrimination of all kinds: in hiring, housing, access to many places... We are the only victims of racial profiling, police violence and so many other forms of deceit. .

Our populations of the Muslim faith are victims of daily Islamophobia fueled by hate speech from the far right and trivialized by a large part of the political and media classes.

Marine Le Pen has been hiding her game since the start of the electoral campaign.

She talks less and less about immigration and Islam to try to divert the attention of our compatriots, talking to them about purchasing power and cats to pet.

Chase the natural, it always comes back at a gallop: the RN will always remain the FN even if the facade is changed, the interior remains intact.

This party is racist, xenophobic, Islamophobic, fascist and homophobic.

The beast may be back, if we're not careful.

We do indeed see the wind of abstention which strongly tempts our populations, expressing multiple anger.

We understand them deeply.

On the other hand, we should simply recall a few points of Marine Le Pen's discriminatory and racist project, of which here are some examples from her program:

  • Abolition of jus soli and family reunification

  • Guarantee of the ethnic composition of the French people

  • Implementation of national preference by amending the constitution

  • Establishment of a "presumption of self-defense" for law enforcement

  • Expulsion of 620,000 households of foreign origin from their social housing so that households of French nationality can benefit from it.

  • · Prohibition of the veil in public space (challenging fundamental freedoms)

  • Compulsory prioritization of French people for access to employment

  • Prohibition of the exercise of public professions by foreigners and dual nationals

  • Alliance with Putin

  • Reinstatement of the death penalty

For all these reasons and so many others that we have not mentioned in this text, next Sunday, no voice should be missing to weaken Marine Le Pen's score.

Next Sunday, for universalism, for the inclusion of all, for freedom, for equality, for fraternity, for secularism and for the safeguarding of the foundations of the Republic, a single ballot will have to be slipped into the ballot box is the Emmanuel Macron ballot paper.

Whatever one may think of his policy for the past five years and the years to come, the only fight that matters today is that against the extreme right.

The fights to come, we will lead them with all the rigor that will attach to them and that, without trembling.
